At Trip Packing List (accessible from tripspackinglist.com), one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information we collect and record, and how we use it.
If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us through our Contact Us page.
1. 100% Browser Local Storage
Unlike conventional travel apps, we do not require user accounts, emails, or logins. Any data related to your packing lists, itineraries, customized items, passenger categories, or baggage weight counts:
- Is processed entirely in your local browser environment.
- Is saved directly in your browser's
localStoragedatabase. - Never gets uploaded to our servers, external APIs, or databases.
You are in full control of your data. You can clear this data at any time by clicking "Reset" in the packing list dashboard or clearing your browser's application cache.
2. Log Files & Diagnostics
Trip Packing List follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes:
- Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
- Browser type and version.
- Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- Date and time stamp of pages visited.
- Referring/exit pages and click counts.
These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
3. Analytics & Cookies
We use minimal, privacy-centric analytics platforms to measure aggregate website traffic (e.g., number of visitors per day, popular checklist types) to help us improve the service.
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device. We use basic cookies solely to store UI state preferences (such as your chosen light or dark theme) so that the website renders correctly on subsequent visits. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
4. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
Under data protection regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you are entitled to key rights regarding your data:
Right to Access & Deletion: Because all trip packing list data is stored locally in your browser, you exercise your right to access or delete it directly. Simply view the list inside your browser, or clear your browser's local cache to permanently remove it.
Right to Opt-Out: Since we do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties (nor do we even collect it), CCPA requirements around opting-out of data sales are fully satisfied.
5. Children's Privacy Information
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
Trip Packing List does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
